AP BSNL Launches Unlimited Data STV w.e.f 21-Apr-2016

AP BSNL launched three unlimited data STV-398, STV-629 and STV-2399 w.e.f 21-Apr-2016 under prepaid 2G/3G services.

AP BSNL revised the prepaid data plan vouchers from 10-Mar-2016.

Data can be used in national roaming also. Main account validity is one year, after that any of the above plan voucher can be used to extend the validity further. If the data is exhausted before validity, any data STV can be recharged otherwise data is charged at 3Ps/10KB.

AP&Telangana BSNL: New Data STV-56 with 30 Days Validity

BSNL introduces new data STV-56 under 2G & 3G prepaid mobile services in AP & Telangana telecom circle with effect from 16-July-2015.

This is a very good STV, costs less with longer validity of 30 days useful especially for people with less/occasional browsing on mobile.

BSNL AP circle relaunched prepaid 3G data STVs: YUVA STV-120 and YUVA STV-599, both the vouchers have 30 days validity.

Comparison of 3G Prepaid Data Plans in Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh telecom circle Aircel, Airtel and Idea are offering 3G services in addition to state-owned BSNL. BSNL is the first mobile operator started offering 3G services followed by Aircel, Airtel and Idea. Vodafone is also offering 3G services(using Idea 3G network, as Vodafone didn't get license for 3G services in Andhra Pradesh).  Here is the list of available data plans for prepaid mobile customers. Which one to choose?

^There are no unlimited data plans from any operator.

^BSNL & Idea have more number of plans compared Aircel and Airtel.

^BSNL & Idea are offering plans with more than 30 days validity.

^BSNL's cost per MB is varying from 50paise/MB (10Rs/20MB) to 8paise/MB(3000Rs/35GB)

^Idea is currently offering double data till 31st December-2011, current cost per MB is, highest- 40paise/MB and lowest-12paise/MB

^Without double data offer, Idea's cost per MB is, highest- 80paise/MB and lowest-24paise/MB

^Vodafone's cost per MB is , highest 1Rs/MB and lowest 24paise/MB

^Aircel's cost per MB is, highest 87.5paise/MB and lowest 38paise/MB

^Airtel's cost per MB is, highest 90paise/MB and lowest 36paise/MB

Conclusion:

BSNL and Idea are offering more number of data plans to choose from, and also at less cost per MB compared Aircel, Airtel and Vodafone. With Idea's double data usage offer it is second best provider to choose. BSNL is the best among all, with the lowest data rates.

But while choosing the best 3G operator we have to consider other parameters like speed, availability, voice plans etc..,  in addition to the data plans, those are not discussed here.
